2024 Polar Plunge + 5K Polar Bear Strut

As winter winds down and the icy chill begins to thaw, the Lake of the Ozarks is set to host a heartwarming event that brings together the community for a great cause. The 29th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Polar Plunge and Polar Bear Strut 5K, happening on Saturday, February 24th, promises a day of fun, excitement, and a splash of tropical flair – all while supporting the Special Olympics of Missouri.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 24th, as this year's Polar Plunge takes on a Hawaiian twist! Participants and spectators alike are encouraged to embrace the warmth of the tropics, with Hawaiian-themed costumes and decorations transforming the Lake of the Ozarks State Park at the Grand Glaize Beach into a tropical paradise.

• Time: The festivities kick off at 9 am with registration, welcoming participants and latecomers alike.
• Age Limit: This event is open to those aged 10 and older, inviting families, friends, and individuals to join in the celebration of giving back.
• Location: Grand Glaize Beach at the Lake of the Ozarks State Park will be the epicenter of the day's activities, providing a picturesque backdrop for the plunge and strut.

Polar Bear Strut 5K

Start Time: Lace up your running shoes at 10 am for the Polar Bear Strut 5K, a scenic run/walk along the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks.

Scenic Route: Participants will enjoy breathtaking views of the lake as they traverse the 5K course, all while donning their best Hawaiian-inspired attire.

Polar Plunge 

• Start Time: At 2 pm, the main event begins with the Polar Plunge, where brave individuals will take a chilly dip into the frigid waters of the Lake of the Ozarks.
• Fundraising Impact: Last year's event made a significant impact, raising over $280,000 for the Special Olympics of Missouri. This year aims to surpass that milestone, with the community coming together to support this worthy cause.

• Warm Welcome: For those spontaneous plungers or last-minute participants, day-of registration is welcome. The event organizers are ready to accommodate everyone looking to make a splash for charity.

Pee Wee Plunge

For the littlest members of our community, the Pee Wee Plunge adds a touch of adorable excitement to the 29th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Polar Plunge and Polar Bear Strut 5K. Open to those aged 9 and younger, this pint-sized plunge allows our youngest supporters to join in the fun while making a meaningful contribution to the Special Olympics of Missouri.

Event Details:

• Age Limit: Kids aged 9 and younger are invited to take part in the Pee Wee Plunge, ensuring that even the smallest members of our community can make a big impact.
• Registration Fee: $25 registration fee opens the door for these little plungers to participate in the joyous event. This fee not only secures their spot in the Pee Wee Plunge but also includes a commemorative T-shirt, ensuring that every participant leaves with a tangible reminder of their icy adventure.
